Introduction to Georgette

A House of Glitz silk georgette scarf is the transformation of a noble raw material into a finished luxurious product with creative prints. Georgette fabric is distinctive because of its crinkly crepe-light texture, which feels slightly rough and dull, but gives the fabric a bouncy, flowing look. The overall appearance is slightly sheer, since the threads are very thin and the colours slightly muted due to the natural fibres giving them an authentic, slightly washed out, look. Georgette fabric is unusually strong, and will hold up well to varied wear. The crepe-like texture of georgette fabric makes it very springy, so that the fabric almost appears to move on its own. It also drapes very well. Since georgette fabric is thin, it is also lightweight, and can be used as a layer without being heavy or bulky.
